Over 50s Life Insurance
Shepherds Friendly’s Over 50s Life Insurance Plan provides your loved ones with a fixed, tax-free cash lump sum when you die, providing help with the cost of your funeral and any other expenses that may be incurred. If you are aged between 50 and 80 at the time of application and you live in the UK permanently your cover will be approved without any personal health or medical questions.
You can become insured from just £10 per month, and you can choose a monthly premium that suits you up to £50. The higher the monthly premium you choose, the higher your level of cover will be.
The premiums you pay each month will be fixed from the start of the plan and will not be increased throughout the term of the plan. When you reach age 90 you will stop paying your premiums but you will remain fully covered. Shepherds Friendly work with Golden Charter Funeral Services, the largest independent funeral service provider in the UK, who will contribute an extra £300 on top of your cover when you choose to nominate them to take care of your funeral.
In addition, their Over 50s Life Insurance plan gives you access to the National Bereavement Service, a not for profit organisation that offers practical guidance to families going through a bereavement.

Income Protection Insurance
Shepherds Friendly’s Income Protection insurance offers you and your family flexible and affordable cover against loss of your regular income due to illness or injury. It provides you with cover up to the age 70 and gives you the choice of a short-term option of two years cover or longer as required.
The policy is available for anyone from age 16 who is a UK resident and has been registered with a UK medical practice for at least three years. You can apply for Income Protection no matter what your profession and whether you are employed or self-employed. Cover can start from as little as £5 a month (our minimum premium) and needs to last for at least 5 years (the minimum term). The policy covers up to a maximum of 70% of your regular gross income.
