Life Insurance

Vitality’s life insurance plan helps protect your loved ones financially if the worst were to happen or you get ill. Your family will get a cash lump sum they can use to cover costs such as funeral expenses, debts or household bills. Monthly premiums are based on your age, height and weight, your health, whether you’re employed in a high-risk occupation, and whether you smoke. Cover with Vitality starts from £9.75 per month.

Critical Illness Cover

Vitality does not offer Critical Illness Cover, instead it offers Serious Illness Cover, which is different as it pays you out for less severe conditions as well as critical ones. Serious Illness Cover gives you a percentage of your cover amount based on the severity of your condition. This means it pays out on a wider range of illnesses – not just the debilitating or life-threatening ones covered by typical critical illness policies. The plan covers 182 conditions which is more than any critical illness cover on the market. You can include Serious Illness Cover with Life Cover or take it on its own. The maximum amount available at the start of your Serious Illness Cover plan is £100,000 for Dementia and FrailCare Cover and £200,000 for Dementia and FrailCare Cover Plus. Subject to a minimum Serious Illness Cover term of 10 years and a maximum age of 60 at entry.

Income Protection Insurance

Vitality’s Income Protection Insurance means you’ll be paid a monthly, tax-free income if you are signed off by your doctor as being unable to work due to illness or injury. You would continue to receive monthly payments until you were able to go back to work, these payments can be vital to ensure you keep up with bills, mortgage repayments, rent or childcare costs. Even if you can’t go back to work, we’ll still pay you an income for the rest of your plan term so you can rest assured that you are fully protected. Up to 60% of your gross salary will be protected for the first £5,000 per month and 50% thereafter. You’ll receive £100 per day if you are hospitalised for over 6 consecutive days.
