Cash ISA

Cambridge Building Society’s Cash ISAs offers a tax-efficient place to protect your savings. You can start saving from just £1 and for the 2020/2021 tax year the cash ISA subscription limit is £20,000. The ISA is open to anyone who is a UK resident, for tax purposes, and aged 16 or over. The company offers three main Cash ISAs:

Instant Access ISA

With a variable interest rate of 0.35% AER you will earn interest from the day your funds are paid into your account until the day before you withdraw funds. The ISA is flexible so you can withdraw cleared funds from your account at any time without giving notice or paying a fee. Normal branch limits for withdrawals are £500 in cash.

2 Year Fixed Rate ISA

With this ISA the interest rate is fixed until the maturity date. Your account will mature two years from the date of your initial deposit. The minimum investment is £500 and you will earn interest at a rate of 0.70% AER. You may withdraw cleared funds from your account at any time, but you will need to pay an interest penalty fee equivalent to 180 days’ interest on the amount withdrawn. Normal branch limits for withdrawals are £500 in cash.

Members 2 Year Fixed Rate ISA

This account, which has very favourable interest rates, can only be opened by an existing member who has held a savings or mortgage account with The Cambridge for at least three months. The minimum investment is £500 and you will earn interest at a rate of 0.80% AER. You may withdraw cleared funds from your account at any time, but you will need to pay an interest penalty fee equivalent to 180 days’ interest on the amount withdrawn. Normal branch limits for withdrawals are £500 in cash.

Other Services
